Which came first the chicken or the egg? That’s what I was asking myself when I saw these two buildings sharing the same parking lot. Also, if you actually go around the corner you’ll find that the two buildings are only a few feet apart.
Doesn’t it seem a little bit implausible to build a Christian church so close to an Islamic center, or vice versa?
I do not understand how these two “churches” can coexist so close together. The building on the left teaches that Jesus was not God and therefore could not atone for your sins, while the building on the right teaches Jesus was God and is the only atonement for sin. These two concepts are exactly opposite yet they exist in the same parking lot.
There must be some “tolerance” in the theologies and doctrines of at least one, if not both sides.
Truth does matter. Either – one of them is right and the other is wrong, or they are both wrong, however they cannot both be right.
It is a good idea to practice patience, understanding, long-suffering, and even tolerance with others around us. For which of us can say that we ourselves do not require these attributes from others, exspecially prior to salvation? But, where exactly does tolerance cross the line into sin?
We currently live in a free country, and anyone can basically build anything anywhere. However, even if this freedom allows for the coexistence of these two structures, the Christian heart likely could not.
When Paul saw the striving between the Christians in Ephesus who were disputing topics of doctrine amongst themselves, the spirit was moved within him to write the epistle. Paul wrote:
Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
It seems we “Christians” have enough to comprehend within our own faith, than to flirt so closely with the world.
